€23 million investment for a new logistics centre in Gebze
Despite the difficulties experienced in global markets, EGGER continues to create value by investing in the regions it is operating without slowing down.
In June 2023, we have launched our new logistics centre that we broke ground in 2021 covering 21,000 square metres of indoor space and standing at three-storeys and 30 metres tall. This €23 million investment will increase our service performance and create 200 new jobs.
- High performance
Designed by our teams of experts, the new logistics centre will increase our storage capacity from 10,000 pallets to 20,000 pallets. An annual finished products and raw materials capacity of 80,000 tons will allow us to better improve our performance as a solution partner.
- Operational excellence
The conveyor bridge connecting the logistics centre and the main building will improve the automated transfer of raw materials and the transfer of finished products to the warehouse.
We will be able to minimise the margin of error in logistics processes thanks to the semi-automated storage system with Very Narrow Aisle (VNA) trucks and the state-of-the-art warehouse management system with EGGER Warehouse Management (EWM).
- Safety first
The logistics centre is designed to eliminate vehicle traffic and the priority has always been to ensure safe working conditions in loading, unloading, and storage areas.
